(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam has cut thousands of business regulations and special inspection procedures, saving 4 trillion VND (172 million USD) in 2017 and 6.3 trillion VND (270.9 million USD) in 2018, according to the World Bank (WB).
The bank’s statistics were released at a teleconference on special inspections and administrative reform in Vietnam during the first fourth months of this year held in Hanoi on May 14.
Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, who chaired the teleconference, said thanks to administrative reform, provinces and cities nationwide have attracted more investors with big projects.
However, the performance has yet to meet requirements set by the Government, he said, asking relevant agencies and localities to review the work.
The Government has urged ministries and agencies to complete the public announcement of business conditions and outcomes of special inspections before May 20, 2019.
It was reported that during the reviewed period, ministries, agencies, provinces and cities issued 700 decisions announcing 13,386 administrative procedures prescribed in 132 legal documents, and received 1,049 petitions, of which 934 were handled.
As of the end of April 2019, 19 out of 23 ministries and agencies and 54 out of 63 provinces and cities had issued plans on implementing the Government’s resolution on solutions to improve business conditions and national competitiveness in 2019, with a vision towards 2021.
All offices of ministries and localities launched the one-stop-shop model and 53 centrally-run cities and provinces established provincial public service centres.
The Government Office asked ministries, agencies and localities to exert greater efforts in administrative reform and business environment improvement during the second quarter of this year.
They were also requested to consolidate the one-stop-shop mechanism at all levels and issue internal processes to address administrative procedures.-VNA
