Green growth strategy reviewed in Da Nang

A seminar on the implementation of Vietnam’s national strategy ongreen growth was held in Central Da Nang city on April 26 with theparticipation of representatives from the Ministry of Planning andInvestment, the National Assembly’s Science and TechnologyCommittee and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

At the event, delegates were introduced the main advantages of greengrowth, in particular its contribution to the restructuring of thenational economy. They were also updated with research results onimproving energy efficiency.

Vietnam isimplementing its 2011-2015 socio-economic development plan andsocio-economic development strategy for 2011-2020 period. The countryhas recognised that green growth is necessary to realise its sustainabledevelopment goals and increase growth quality.

The national strategy on green growth was approved by the Prime Minister last year.-VNA
