Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has approved in principle the raising of the annual designed capacity of the Guang Lian-Dung Quat steel project to 7 million tonnes of products from the current 5 million tonnes.
The Deputy PM also assigned the Quang Ngai provincial People’s Committee to direct the Dung Quat Economic Zone’s Management Board to ask the investors to ensure the project’s progress.
The first phase of the Taiwanese-invested steel plant is expected to be completed in 2010 and the second phase in December 2014./.
