Ha Long – 2018 destination of Vietnamese photographers

Vietnamese professional and amateur photographers have until July 31 to send their photo to take part in a biennial national art photo exhibition.

Quang Ninh (VNA) – Vietnameseprofessional and amateur photographers have until July 31 to send their phototo take part in a biennial national art photo exhibition, which assess theachievements of Vietnamese photographers in the last two years.

The organising board plans to show 200 to250 works at the exhibition slated for October in the northern province ofQuang Ninh, as part of the National Tourism Year 2018 themed Ha Long – QuangNinh.

Candidates can send single photographs or agroup of photographs on two topics: Ha Long – Quang Ninh – from new angles or afree topic on Vietnam.

The photographs should have been taken inthe last two years. Each photographer can send up to eight works for twotopics, a maximum three of which are groups of photographs. The entries shouldnot have been submitted to any previous national and international contesthosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the VietnamAssociation of Photographic Artists.

The entries should be submitted to the websiteanhnghethuatvietnam2018.com.

The organising board will award two goldmedals, along with 30 million VND (1,318 USD) in cash, four silver, six bronzeand 10 consolation prizes.

The gold prize winners at this contest willbe eligible to apply for the State Prize and Ho Chi Minh Prize in Literatureand Arts, the highest honours in Vietnam.

Thespectacular stretch of coast connects the UNESCO-recognised World Heritage Siteof Ha Long Bay with majestic natural scenery, Bai Tu Long Bay, Van Don and CoTo islands and Tra Co beach with Cat Ba National Park in the northern port cityof Hai Phong.

Along with the renowned Ha Long Bay, Quan Lan, MinhChau, Ngoc Vung, Dai beaches in Van Don island district and Tra Co and VinhThuc in Mong Cai city have grown in stature among domestic and internationaltourists thanks to their breathtaking sea and coral reef.-VNA
