First cruises usher in upbeat Lunar New Year tourism season

On the second day of Tet, Van Don International Airport is also set to receive private charter flights bringing Japanese business delegations to the province, with the simultaneous surge in sea and air arrivals reinforcing Quang Ninh’s status as a dynamic high-end tourism centre in the region.

With cruise tourism identified as a strategic growth segment, Quang Ninh has refreshed its tourism products to appeal to high-spending travellers. Newly designed short tours include Ha Long city sightseeing, visits to the provincial Museum–Library, local culinary experiences, and cultural and spiritual attractions.

Yen Tu Spring Festival 2026 to open following UNESCO acclaim

This year, the festival will be much larger than before, spreading across Vang Danh, Yen Tu, Thuong Yen Cong, Phuong Dong, and Bac Son wards, instead of just a few spots like in the past. The highlight will be an evening music show on February 26, broadcast live on Quang Ninh newspaper and radio-television, with modern lighting and sound to bring the story and spirit of Buddha King Tran Nhan Tong to life.

Quang Ninh sees tourism surge during New Year holiday

From December 31, 2025 to January 2, 2026, Quang Ninh welcomed around 530,000 visitors, including 44,400 foreign tourists. The number of overnight guests was estimated at 158,000, while total tourism revenue reached approximately 1.28 trillion VND (over 48.55 million USD).

Quang Ninh eyes sustainable marine aquaculture development

Speaking at a December 17 meeting regarding sustainable marine aquaculture development for 2026, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh province Nguyen Van Cong urged the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment to urgently finalise the draft plan, which will serve as a basis for focusing on the development of marine aquaculture in the coming period; and take the lead in coordinating with localities to review and adjust the planning of marine aquaculture areas, with an emphasis on encouraging the efficient use of marine areas suitable for aquaculture, in line with environmental impact assessments.
