Quang Ninh (VNA) – The northeastern province of Quang Ninh wants to establish cooperative relations with Portuguese localities in various areas, particularly in construction, infrastructure of hi-tech industrial zones and human resources training, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Dang Xuan Phuong said while receiving General Secretary of the Portuguese Communist Party Paulo Raimundo and his delegation on August 16.
At the reception, Phuong, who is also head of the provincial delegation of deputies to the 15th National Assembly, introduced the guests to the province’s socio-economic development and its advantages.
Asking for support of the Portuguese Communist Party to develop cooperative ties and exchanges between the province and Portuguese localities, Phuong also urged the Party to help Quang Ninh businesses to access the Portuguese market, promote tourism, and investment cooperation between localities.
He also asked the Portuguese side to consider opening a direct flight route from Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh province to Portugal.
For his part, Raimundo affirmed that the Portuguese Communist Party always attaches special importance to its cooperative relations with communist parties around the world, including the Communist Party of Vietnam.
He agreed that Quang Ninh’s suggestions are important issues to promote the cooperative relations between the two sides. He said his party will try its best to concretise the issues./.
