- Party General Secretary To Lam on November 14 visited Bach Long Vi island district in the northern city of Hai Phong to learn about the living and working conditions of local residents and soldiers stationed on the island.
Bach Long Vi, located in the Gulf of Tonkin, is the furthest island from Vietnam's mainland, about 15 nautical miles from the boundary between Vietnam and China in the Gulf of Tonkin, and 110 kilometres from Hai Phong's Hon Dau. The island district of Bach Long Vi was established on December 9, 1992, directly under Hai Phong city. Its residents primarily rely on fishing and fisheries-related services, with fishing vessels often seeking shelter in the island's harbour during rough seas. Read full story
- Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong held talks with President of Peru Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra in Lima on November 13 afternoon (local time), with the framework of his official visit to the Latin American country.
The two leaders informed each other about the recent situation in their respective countries, and discussed directions and measures to further promote the bilateral friendship and multi-faceted cooperation, as well as international and regional issues of mutual concern. Read full story
- Peruvian President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra presented the Grand Cross of the Order of “The Sun of Peru” to State President of Vietnam Luong Cuong at a ceremony held at the Casa de Pizarro, the Government Palace, in Lima on November 13 afternoon (local time), following their talks the same day.
Addressing the ceremony, the host leader expressed her honour in awarding the prestigious order to Cuong, recognising his significant contributions to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Peru and Vietnam. Read full story
- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh laid stress on the significance of national solidarity through concrete actions while attending the Great Nation
al Unity Festival in residential area No. 8 of Na Sam town in the northern mountainous province of Lang Son's Van Lang district on November 14.
The Government leader affirmed that solidarity has been a precious tradition of the nation throughout the noble history, helping it overcome formidable challenges, stating the strength of the great national unity is an important driving force and a decisive factor behind all victories of the Vietnamese revolution. - The first phase of the 15th National Assembly (NA)’s eighth sitting came to a great success on November 13, after 20 working days, with various highlights recorded.
On the first working day, October 20, the legislature held a plenary session at the hall to discuss and vote on a draft Resolution on electing Luong Cuong as the State President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term. - Vietnam-Israel trade, propelled by the current growth momentum, is expected to surpass 3 billion USD in 2024, Vietnamese Trade Counsellor in the Middle Eastern nation Le Thai Hoa has said.

- Ho Chi Minh City ranks third in Southeast Asia in terms of startup ecosystem value, with an economic impact of 5.22 billion USD, according to Startup Genome Global Startup Ecosystem Report, released at the Saigon Summit recently held in the city.
Meanwhile, the 2023 Southeast Asia Digital Economy Report, jointly conducted by Google, Temasek, and Bain & Co, predicted that Vietnam’s digital economy will continue to grow at a rapid pace, with an estimated value of 45 billion USD by 2025. Read full story
- The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) held a national conference in Ho Chi Minh City on November 14 to review the implementation of a project on building and implementing an action plan to realise goals of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) until 2025 (Project 161).
The conference, held both in-person and online formats, offered an opportunity for leaders from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the MoLISA and various agencies within the ASCC in Vietnam, along with local representatives and universities, as well as the ASEAN Secretariat, to update each other on the project’s progress.
