During the nine-day Tet holiday alone, the province welcomed more than 1.1 million visitors, including an estimated 248,000 international arrivals, reaffirming its position as one of Vietnam’s leading tourism hubs.
In 2026, Quang Ninh aims to attract more than 22 million visitors, including about 5.2 million international arrivals; and earned a total revenue of at at least 65 trillion VND (2.5 billion USD).
On the second day of Tet, Van Don International Airport is also set to receive private charter flights bringing Japanese business delegations to the province, with the simultaneous surge in sea and air arrivals reinforcing Quang Ninh’s status as a dynamic high-end tourism centre in the region.

Under Hilton’s management, Yoko Onsen Quang Hanh developed and operated by Sun Group since 2020 will be rebranded as Hilton Quang Hanh Onsen Resort and positioned as an international-standard wellness destination. Here, the traditional onsen experience will be delivered within the framework of Hilton’s rigorous global service standards.
With cruise tourism identified as a strategic growth segment, Quang Ninh has refreshed its tourism products to appeal to high-spending travellers. Newly designed short tours include Ha Long city sightseeing, visits to the provincial Museum–Library, local culinary experiences, and cultural and spiritual attractions.
This year, the festival will be much larger than before, spreading across Vang Danh, Yen Tu, Thuong Yen Cong, Phuong Dong, and Bac Son wards, instead of just a few spots like in the past. The highlight will be an evening music show on February 26, broadcast live on Quang Ninh newspaper and radio-television, with modern lighting and sound to bring the story and spirit of Buddha King Tran Nhan Tong to life.
The move is seen as a meaningful gesture of appreciation by the northern province toward residents, monks, Buddhists and visitors whose contributions have played an important role in protecting, preserving and building the successful World Heritage dossier.
From December 31, 2025 to January 2, 2026, Quang Ninh welcomed around 530,000 visitors, including 44,400 foreign tourists. The number of overnight guests was estimated at 158,000, while total tourism revenue reached approximately 1.28 trillion VND (over 48.55 million USD).
At the welcoming ceremony on January 1, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Quan Minh Cuong presented flowers and extended New Year greetings to the cruise passengers.
These events are expected to draw between 10,000 and 50,000 visitors, contributing to the northern province’s goal of developing identity-rich culture linked with heritage and night-time economic activities.
The inaugural Vietnam Travel Day reflects the strong determination of the Vietnam Tourism Association and Quang Ninh to realise the Government’s 2025 growth targets. The event aims to renew mindset and action in Vietnam’s travel sector, fostering its role as a pioneer in developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector.
It is expected that during the 2025–2026 cruise season from October 2025 to April 2026, there will be nine trips on the Beihai – Ha Long route bringing visitors to Quang Ninh.
On November 11–12, the port is receiving two luxury cruise ships — Westerdam (Netherlands) and Star Voyager (Bahamas) — carrying more than 3,100 passengers and crew members to explore Quang Ninh’s heritage sites.

The MICE crowd has been flocking to Quang Ninh in droves lately, thanks to local and foreign tour operators cashing in on the trend, giving its tourism scene a major boost.

In the first seven months of 2025, Quang Ninh welcomed over 14.6 million tourists, including more than 2.6 million international visitors. Ha Long Bay alone drew about 20% of these visitors, making safety on the bay an unwavering priority for provincial authorities and relevant agencies.
Quang Ninh welcomed an average of 7,000–8,000 visitors daily in early August, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
According to local plans, fireworks shows will be held at multiple locations, with Ha Long Bay as the focal point. More than mere entertainment, these displays are part of a strategic cultural tourism product aimed at strengthening the region’s brand.
The Quang Ninh Tourism Association underscored its commitment to delivering a complete and safe experience for visitors, affirming that Ha Long Bay and Quang Ninh as a whole remain safe destinations.
