Hanoi is now at Level 1 in COVID-19 prevention and control, which means Hanoi is a “green zone” with the low pandemic risk and in the “new normal” status, according to the municipal Centre for Disease Control (CDC).

Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi is now at Level 1 in COVID-19 prevention andcontrol, which means Hanoi is a “green zone” with the low pandemic risk and inthe “new normal” status, according to the municipal Centre for Disease Control (CDC).

In the city, over the past two weeks, only four cases havebeen detected in the community, including one in Hang Trong ward of Hoan Kiemdistrict and three in La Khe ward of Ha Dong district.

To date, up to 98 percent of the local residents aged 18 andabove have been given at least one shot of COVID-19 vaccine.

In general, all 579 wards and communes, and 30 districts areassessed to have the low pandemic risk.

The capital city also has stopped examining people and vehiclesentering or exiting the city when they pass pandemic checkpoints./.

Remains of Vietnamese fallen soldiers, experts repatriated from Laos

The remains of 12 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts, who laid down their lives in different periods in Laos’ Savannakhet province, were repatriated following a handover ceremony on May 21. They will be re-buried at the Road 9 National Martyrs Cemetery in Vietnam's central province of Quang Tri on May 22.

Nghe An reburies martyrs' remains repatriated from Laos

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phung Thanh Vinh said that carrying a noble international duty, many Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts heroically joined Lao people in their struggle for national liberation and independence. Many of them sacrificed their lives in the country, including more than 12,000 soldiers laying down in the three provinces of Xaysomboun, Vientiane, and Xiangkhouang.
