With the aim of raising public awareness of energy saving, a programme on the topic and efficiency in using energy and related movements were launched on March 5.
Under the programme, in 2013 Hanoi will save 235.5 million kWh of electricity, equivalent to 380 billion VND (18 million USD), a 26.5 million kWh of electricity more than 2012.
To realise the goal, the city encourages industrial zones and trade villages to boost energy saving and carry out energy-saving activities for the city’s buildings and transport industry.
According to Vice Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Pham Duc Tien, the city will strive to save 30 million kWh of electricity from the movements.-VNA
