Bac Giang develops trade unions in non-state enterprises

In the coming time, Bac Giang province, a magnet for foreign direct investment (FDI) in the northern region, will pay attention to consolidating, building and developing trade unions and workers’ movements in enterprises outside the state sector, according to Chairman of the provincial Labour Confederation Nguyen Van Canh.

Bac Giang (VNA) - In the coming time, Bac Giang province, a magnet for foreign direct investment (FDI) in the northern region, will pay attention to consolidating, building and developing trade unions and workers’ movements in enterprises outside the state sector, according to Chairman of the provincial Labour Confederation Nguyen Van Canh.

It will regularly grasp the situation of enterprises, especially those that meet requirements but have not yet established a trade union, or where there are many workers but they are not union members, to promptly advise them to establish grassroots trade unions.

Attention will also be paid to innovating contents and methods, and increasing the quality of activities of trade unions at all levels; and implementing policies for unionists.

Since 2021, Bac Giang has set up 189 grassroots trade unions and admitted 104,758 members.

The provincial Labour Confederation has gradually promoted digital transformation in union activities, and established a mental health consulting centre for female workers, and Facebook pages and Zalo groups to support workers./.

FLC appeal hearing postponed, giving more time for compensation

After discussions and listening to opinions from lawyers, defendants, and victims present at the trial, the judicial panel stated that postponing the appeal hearing for Trinh Van Quyet, ex-chairman of FLC Group, is necessary to ensure the rights of the victims.
