Hanoi (VNA) – The ceremony to present the Vietnam National Quality Awards and Asia-Pacific Quality Awards for 2021-2023 will be held in Hanoi on December 18, heard a press conference in the capital city on December 12.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh highlighted that over its 28-year history, the awards, which honour outstanding businesses that demonstrate stability, comprehensive development, and competitive advantages in both domestic and international markets through optimal management improvements and sustainable growth efforts, have gained significant recognition and credibility among organisations, businesses, regulatory agencies, and consumers.

To date, 2,163 enterprises have received the prestigious national awards, and 55 exceptional enterprises have been honoured at the international level with the Asia-Pacific Quality Awards.

The Deputy Minister expressed his hope that businesses, organisations, and individuals will continue to support and participate in the awards, enhancing their reputation and legacy. These efforts align with the National Programme for "Supporting Enterprises to Improve Productivity and Quality of Products and Goods for the 2021-2030 Period" approved by the Prime Minister in 2020.

Despite challenges faced during the 2021-2023 period, enterprises participating in the national quality awards achieved remarkable outcomes. Collectively, these businesses generated estimated revenues of over 500 trillion VND (roundly 20 billion USD), profits exceeding 36 trillion VND, contributed more than 32 trillion VND in taxes, and created jobs for nearly 170,000 workers.

The Prime Minister awarded the National Quality Awards to 61 enterprises in 2021, 49 in 2022, and 23 in 2023./.
