The Hanoi Agricultural Products and Craft Village Fair opened on October 24 as part of efforts to promote local produce and highlight traditional values of the villages as well as achievements in building new style rural areas.
The event features 200 booths where a wide range of high-quality commodities are on display, ranging from organic farm produce, processed food, to biological and chemical products used in farming and animal breeding.
Furthermore, craft villages across the capital city are taking this chance to showcase their notable achievement and special handiwork from silk weaving, wood carving to ceramics and puppet making.
The fair also entails other business activities and workshops connecting producers, businesspersons and consumers in the field.
The event hosted by the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will run until October 27.
Hanoi is home to around 1,350 craft villages including 286 traditional ones. Some renowned traditional craft villages are Bat Trang ceramic village, Van Phuc silk village and Chuong My wood carving village.-VNA
