The capital city is exerting efforts in preparation for the 11th annual meeting of the Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia (CPTA) from October 9-13, hoping it will give a boost to the local tourism industry.
The event, the third time hosted by Hanoi, expects to attract delegates from eight member cities of Tokyo, New Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Seoul, Taipei and the host, together with two observers - Ulaanbaatar and Tomsk.
The Hanoi Moi (New Hanoi) daily quoted Bui Duy Quang, Director of the Tourism Promotion Information Center of Hanoi’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as saying that the hosting of the meeting offers an opportunity for Hanoi to introduce its tourist potentials, culture and history to foreign guests and visitors. In the framework of the meeting, the organising board will hold an exhibition for domestic and foreign companies to showcase their tourist products and services.
Local travel agencies will introduce short tours to popular destinations in and around Hanoi./.
