The Hanoi People’s Committee will train 500 public servants on a trial basis to work within communes and wards.
The training is part of the project to prepare 1,000 civil servants for work in the capital city in the next three years.
The training will focus on the fields of office work and statistics; judiciary and birth, marriage and death records; land construction, cultural and social issues, as well as finance and accounting.
Students graduating with strong diplomas from local public universities and those from foreign universities with very strong or excellent diplomas are encouraged to apply for the training course.
They are required to have foreign language certificates, which include English, French, Russian, German and Chinese, together with informatics certificates in order to be eligible for the course.
Trainees must commit to work at wards and communes as assigned for a period of at least five years.
The free training, expected to start in the first quarter of this year, will last 18 months.
Trainees will take part in a competition to become capital city public servants after passing the graduation examination.
Hanoi plans to organise exams on a trial basis this year to select management candidates for administrative agencies, according to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Home Affairs Phung Van Thiep./. VNA
