Hanoi plans to spend more than 2.7 trillion VND on arranging overhead wires on its 312 streets from now to 2015.

The funding includes nearly 1.5 trillion VND from the municipal budget, 748 billion VND from the electricity sector, and more than 500 billion VND contributed by communications line owners.

The work will be putting all wire systems on 49 streets underground, burying communications lines on 63 streets and rearranging the overhanging wires on 200 streets.

Last year, overhead wires were cleared on 29 streets in the heart of the city, with the involvement of the Hanoi Telecom Company, the Hanoi Power Corporation, and the military-run Viettel group./.
