Hanoi (VNA) - Hanoi is working on a plan to promote its tourism on CNN (Cable News Network).

Promoting Hanoi tourism on CNN is an effective initiative and a necessary move to promote, introduce and attract foreign tourists to the city, said a representative of Hanoi’s People’s Committee.

The committee will do preparation work for the meeting between its Chairman and CNN’s Southeast Asia Business Director.

The target of the tourism promotion plan is to attract both domestic and foreign tourists to Hanoi, have tourists stay longer in Hanoi, have tourists’ average spending increase and raise the rate of tourists revisiting Hanoi.

The committee along with the city’s Tourism Department and other agencies will pilot the creation of a logo and instruction posts of tourism products within Hanoi, Bat Trang pottery village, and Van Phuc silk village.

Notably, during the two peak days ahead of Tet, the 26th and 27th days of the last lunar month, which fall on February 13 and 14, the airport is projected to operate up to 1,017 flights per day.
