Hanoi welcomes unique art complex in the heart of the old quarter

Located at 75 Hang Bo, the former site of Le Cuong Printing House, an important venue for promoting culture in the early 20th century, Area 75 – Art & Auction has officially opened, becoming a cultural destination for art lovers with exhibitions and cultural experiences.

After a long time of preparation, Area 75 – Art & Auction is now open, offering a peaceful escape from the bustling streets.

It showcases works from traditional Vietnamese arts like lacquer painting, hand embroidery, and ceramics, as well as innovative Dong Ho paintings displayed on lanterns.

In the main exhibition space, visitors can explore the first show, "Echoes of Excellence," featuring 29 works of painting and sculpture by four artists—Nguyen Nghia Dau, Nguyen The Hung, Nguyen Dinh Vu, and Luong Trinh. These artists are recognized for their contributions to contemporary Vietnamese art, with a shared interest in traditional values within modern life.

Area 75 – Art & Auction, founded by the Fine Arts and Cultural Products Company in 1959, also operates the Ho Guom Audio brand and the Art Introduction and Exchange Center. Hosting both contemporary and traditional art at this historically significant venue, brings a strong sense of cultural continuity.

This transformation aligns with modern trends while preserving its unique character. Along with exhibitions, Area 75 hosts workshops and art appreciation events, offering opportunities for direct engagement with the arts and helping preserve traditional cultural values.

In a rapidly developing city, this cultural space helps people slow down, appreciate beauty, and reconnect with Vietnam’s cultural heritage./.
