The 1,000 patient-bed hospital will bespecialised in high quality tumour treatment, applying state-of-the-artmedical technology. The 10-storey construction includes an outpatientclinic, a sub-clinical and diagnostic area, and an administrative area.
HuaNgoc Thuan, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee said thatthe facility will help ease the burden on other oncology hospitals inthe south.
The construction is scheduled to start in the secondquarter of this year and the facility is expected to become operationalin 2017.
Ho Chi Minh City ’s first Oncology Hospital wasfounded in 1985, serving as the main centre for cancer treatment insouthern region. It is capable of providing various treatment modalitiessuch as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.-VNA
