HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City wants to receive support from domestic andforeign resources in smart urban development, said Vice Chairman of themunicipal People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen.

During aworking session in the city on June 26 with a delegation of Finnish experts insmart urban development and innovation led by Ambassador of Finland to Vietnam KariKahiluoto, Tuyen said the city is keen on fields of Finland’s strength such assmart health care and transport development, and sport management.

He addedthat the city’s smart urban development project aims to put its economy onrapid and sustainable growth path, create a close interaction betweenauthorities and people to bring practical and long-term benefits to them.

Ambassador Kahiluoto,for his part, said leading Finnish experts in smart urban development andinnovation area are ready to share experience and want to establish long-termcooperation with the city in the field.

Finlandwants to foster ties with the city to build smart urban developmentinitiatives, provide solutions to projects in smart urban transportation,community-based health care and clean energy, he said.

He promisedthat Finland will attend an international conference on calling for investmentin sub-components of the smart urban development project scheduled for thisJuly as invited by the city authorities, adding that Finnish firms and expertswill recommend specific technical solutions at the event.

Finnishexperts introduced several outstanding smart urban and innovation park buildingprojects abroad, technical requirements for the process.

They alsoexpressed readiness to transfer technological advances and finance to the cityin the effort.-VNA

K’Ho ethnic minority group in Lam Dong province looks forward to Election Day

Lac Duong commune is a remote locality largely inhabited by the K’Ho ethnic minority in Lam Dong. Hanoi customs seize suspected gold smuggled by four passengers at Noi Bai airport

The inspection revealed that passenger P.T.H. had concealed 10 pieces of the metal, weighing about 5 kg, inside her bra and underwear. Passenger V.T.M. hid five pieces totalking roughly 1.1 kg beneath underwear. Passenger N.V.L. concealed nine pieces amounting to around 3.5 kg, while passenger C.S.M.H. hid seven pieces weighing some 2.7 kg under underwear and on the wrist.
