HCM City (VNA)– Ho Chi Minh City is ready to cooperate with Japan’s Saitama prefecture inmanpower training, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhansaid on October 31.

While receiving a business delegation of Saitama prefecture led by its GovernorKiyoshi Ueda, Nhan said Japan is a strategicpartner of Vietnam and HCM City, adding that the city supports theestablishment of a representative office of Saitama’s administration here inorder to enhance bilateral connectivity and bring benefits to both sides.

HCM City has paid due attention to personneltraining, particularly in hi-tech industries, and it wants to coordinate withSaitama to train manpower in the fields of mechanics, automation and nursing inaccordance with demands of Saitama businesses, he noted.

The successful cooperation in human resourcedevelopment with Saitama will not only meet the needs of Japanese companies butalso provide HCM City with high-quality manpower for future development.

Kiyoshi Ueda said the prefecture has economic potentialsand is the location of the headquarters of many major Japanese businesses.

Saitama’s administrationand companies want to intensify partnerships with HCM City for the sake of bothsides’ enterprises and people, he said.

Ueda asked the municipal authorities to createfavourable conditions for Saitama to open a representative office to supportjoint activities between the two sides’ administrations and businesses.

The governor also hoped that HCM City willassist Saitama firms to carry out cooperation activities, especially inmanpower training, through sending local apprentices to Japan and recruitingVietnamese students in Japan to Saitama firms.-VNA

Vietnam, Indonesia promote collaboration in personnel training

To formalise cooperation in personnel training and development between the two countries, as well as between the HCMA and Lemhannas, the Vietnamese official suggested that the international cooperation units of both sides create a priority cooperation framework and prepare to sign a memorandum of understanding.
