Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai has highlighted the experiences of India’s Maharashtra State in mobilising capital through private-public partnership (PPP) for infrastructure development.
The city leader made the remarks at a meeting with Maharashtra Governor K. Sankaranarayanan in India on March 18, the last day of his six-day visit to the country.
In reply, Sankaranarayanan described the high-ranking delegation’s visit as a vivid symbol of the traditional friendship between India and Vietnam.
The India-Vietnam strategic partnership is seeing strong development in various fields, he said, emphasising the significance of the establishment of relations between the two countries’ localities in effectively tapping their potential and strengths.
The Investment and Trade Promotion Centre of HCM City and the India-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on bilateral cooperation at a working session on the same day.
Under the MoU, both sides will exchange trade and investment promotion delegations and provide information on seminars, trade fairs, exhibitions and events.
Hai expressed his belief that the MoU will lay the foundations for promoting trade and investment cooperation to help the two countries hit their bilateral trade target of 7 billion USD by 2015.-VNA
