At a working session with the programme’sinsiders on April 9, Nhan suggested the city learn experiences fromIndia, the Republic of Korea and China which have shown goodperformances in the field.
He highlighted thenecessity to identify Vietnamese IC producers’ competitiveness and theadoption of competitive policies to lure leading experts both at homeand abroad into spurring the sector’s development.
Nhan’s viewswere shared by Le Manh Ha, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’sCommittee, who also underlined the creation of an IC market for theindustry to grow.
Ngo Duc Hoang, Director of theIntegrated Circuit Design Research and Education Centre said theprogramme aims to enable the municipal IT industry to shift fromassembling to manufacturing key components and even complete products,produce components and devices in service of security and defence, andsupport a robust development of the software industry.
It will include seven projects that cover personnel training, ICbusiness incubation, trial design and production, factory construction,market development and policies for IC development, Hoang said.-VNA
