HCM City proud of fruitful cooperation with Lao localities: official

Ho Chi Minh City is greatly proud that its friendship and cooperation with Lao localities have been developing unceasingly in multiple areas and obtaining numerous practical results, said Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Le.

HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City is greatly proud that its friendship and cooperation with Lao localities have been developing unceasingly in multiple areas and obtaining numerous practical results, said Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Thi Le.

She made the remark while receiving Saythong Xayavong, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Champasak province, along with deputy ministerial-level officials of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) on August 21.

Le affirmed HCM City’s consistent viewpoint of treasuring and exerting all-out efforts to maintain, consolidate, and develop the special relationship with Laos, including its localities.

HCM City will frequently direct local Party agencies, administrations, and organisations to step up economic, trade and investment partnerships, mutual visits, and people-to-people exchanges with the Lao side. It will also create favourable conditions for their exchanges and collaboration while giving more assistance to Lao cadres and students who are researching and studying in HCM City, the official stated.

For his part, Saythong highly valued the cooperation results between HCM City and Lao localities, including Champasak.

He expressed his hope that the two sides will keep fruitfully carrying out cooperation activities in various spheres, thereby contributing to the special solidarity between Laos and Vietnam.

At the meeting, representatives of HCM City’s departments and sectors and the Lao delegation shared experiences in socio-economic development and investment attraction./.
