The donations were handed over at a ceremony held in the city on December 20 along with 50 oxygen generators and 100 portable sputum aspirators donated by China’s Jiangsu province to HCM City.
At the event, Wu Jun, Chinese Consul General to HCM City, said the special cooperation between the Vietnamese and Chinese Parties and States is growing robustly, particularly regarding their joint work against the epidemic.
He took the occasion to thank the municipal authorities for always creating favourable conditions for Chinese businesses and people working and living in the city.
The diplomat said he believes the two nations will soon push back COVID-19, recover their economies, and bring the locals’ life back to normal.
To Thi Bich Chau, Chairwoman of the municipal Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, expressed her gratitude toward the assistance, which she said demonstrates the comprehensive cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and China as well as between HCM City and Jiangsu.
Support from international friends during the time of hardship is a great source of encouragement for the city, she affirmed.
