HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City spent 52.5 billion VND (2.34 million USD) on activities for children over two months this summer.
A programme titled “Proud of children in HCM City” that ended in mid-August featured a wide range of entertainment, sports, arts, music, health care and communications for children from across the city.
Summer camps were held for the city’s children in Mekong Delta provinces of Long An, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh and Vinh Long, and in the northern provinces of Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang and Hanoi.
Many activities were held to improve their awareness of environmental protection, including tree planting at schools, parks and historical relics as well as forest camps.
Museums in the city, including the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Vietbam History Museum, War Remnants Museum and Southern Vietnam Women Museum, allowed children free entry.
District-level children’s houses also organised various music and art performances, traditional games and contests for them.-VNA
