A leading official of Ho Chi Minh City has confirmed that the municipal authorities always do all they can to nurture the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
Receiving Lao Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Ngeun Saphouvon on March 7 during his working visit to Vietnam , Deputy Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Hua Ngoc Thuan further said the city now enjoys cooperation with many localities in Laos in economics, trade, investment, culture and education.
The city and those localities have, over the past years, joined hands in organising various cultural exchanges, Thuan said, adding that leading officials will facilitate the study by the nearly 300 Lao students in Ho Chi Minh City .
For his part, Ngeun Saphouvon said his visit is to implement the two Parties and States’ policy on boosting the education on the revolutionary tradition and the special friendship between the two countries to their young generations.
He expressed his wish that in the time to come, the two countries will intensify their bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of culture, arts and tourism, thus meeting the desire for further mutual understanding between the two peoples.-VNA
