A business delegation from Taiwan (China) visited Ho Chi Minh City on August 25 with the aim of seeking investment and trade opportunities, especially in the fields of production and retail.
The delegation includes more than 30 companies involved in commodities, foods, domestic products, construction materials, machines, and cosmetics.
At a trade exchange programme held by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) on the same day, Taiwanese enterprises hoped that besides learning about Vietnamese customers’ demands, they will set up partnership with Vietnamese counterparts so as to enhance future trade ties and expand up market with high-quality products.
John Tang, Director of TAITRA office in HCM City, said that the Vietnamese economy has developed in a stable trend and reached a positive economic growth rate, thus creating confidence in foreign investors and businesses.
Taiwanese businesses hope to expand market in Vietnam by strengthening trade with HCM City’s enterprises, he added.
Currently, around 500-600 Taiwanese businesses are operating in the city.-VNA
