HCM City (VNA) – A total of 550 enterprises from 20 nations andterritories will take part in the 22nd International Exhibition onFood and Beverage and the 22nd International Exhibition on FoodProcessing, Packing Technology and Equipment (VietFood & Beverage – ProPack)to be held in Ho Chi Minh City from August 8-11.

The participating businesses will showcase their products in600 pavilions, including seven national ones of India, Poland, the Republic ofKorea, Thailand, China and Vietnam.

Nguyen Khac Luan, General Director of the Vietnam NationalTrade Fair & Advertising Joint Stock Company (Vinexad), said that more thanhalf of 93 million Vietnamese people are aged under 30 and have improved incomecompared with the past.

Therefore, the habit of buying convenience food is gettingmore popular, thus making Vietnam become a consumption market for food and beverageof considerable potential in the region, Luan said.

Nguyen Ngoc An, deputy head of the Food and FoodstuffAssociation of Ho Chi Minh City, said the association continues to coordinatewith Vinexad in organising the two exhibitions to create a prestigious venuefor both domestic and foreign enterprises to introduce their products, boosttrade and seek partners.

With the trade value generated over the past more than 20years, the exhibitions has drawn much attention from domestic and foreignenterprises, he added.

A survey in 2017 showed that 80 percent of the exhibitors feltsatisfied with the exhibition events, with 70 percent affirming to continue theirparticipation in the next ones.-VNA
