HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City will see a sharp increase in MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) tourists in 2018, according to the local Department of Tourism.
The director of the city’s department, Bui Ta Hoang Vu, said the city would welcome two large MICE groups consisting of 4,000 people in May alone.
MICE and waterway tourism would be promoted next year, he added.
The city welcomed an estimated 6.38 million international visitors this year and earned some 116 trillion VND in tourism revenues, up 22.8 percent and 12.6 percent from last year.
The number is expected to rise to 7.5 million next year, he said. - VNA
