HCM City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City is willing to share experiencewith elected agencies of the United Kingdom in professional work and electionorganisation, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Council Truong Thi Anhhas stated.

Anh made the remark during her reception on October 4 forWayne David, who is Labour Member of Parliament for the Caerphilly, ShadowDefence Minister for the Armed Forces and Defence Procurement, and Chair of theAll-Party Parliamentary Group for Vietnam.

The HCM City official expressed her delight at finedevelopment of the two countries’ relations, as reflected through regulardelegation exchanges and growth in trade and investment cooperation.

The city always welcomes foreign firms, including those fromthe UK, to do long-term business and investment, she affirmed.

Wayne David, in turn, confirmed that UK all-partyparliamentarians are unanimous in the stance of boosting the relationship betweenthe UK and Vietnam in general, and between UK MPs and Vietnam’s people-electeddeputies in particular.

Showing his impression with the strong and dynamicdevelopment of Ho Chi Minh City, he said that during its working visit to thecity, the UK parliamentary delegation wants to learn about Vietnam and Ho ChiMinh City, especially the operation of people’s councils at the locallevel.-VNA

NA approves new Vice Chairpersons, members of National Election Council

The legislature approved the appointment of Politburo member and NA Vice Chairman Do Van Chien as Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Election Council and head of its Personnel Sub-committee; and Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai as Vice Chairwoman.

Jordanian King's visit hopeful of opening up new cooperation phase
