HCM Relic Complex affirms ties with Lao museum

The Ho Chi Minh Relic Complex (HRC) and Laos’ Kaysone Phomvihane Museum (KPM) will maintain bilateral ties through the regular exchange of professional experiences and cooperation programmes.

A cooperation agreement to this effect was signed between HRCDirector Bui Kim Hong and the KPM representative, Suvandi Sisavat, inHanoi on July 19.

The two sides agreed on plansfor the annual exchange of delegations as well as documents, scientificresearch results and publications relating to their professional work.

They also agreed to invite representatives torelated seminars or events in each country.

Duringtheir Vietnam visit from July 14-20, the KPM delegation paid tributeto President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and visited his native land inthe central province of Nghe An./.

Rare green sea turtle released back into the wild in Quang Tri

The green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), locally known as vich, is a rare and protected species under Vietnamese law. It is also listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as a species of conservation concern and is included in the appendices of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
