High-ranking military delegation visits Laos

On Aug. 15, theVietnamese delegation was received by Lao Prime Minister ThongsingThammavong and Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister DouangchayPhichit.

Lieut. Gen. Ty informed the hosts about the results oftalks with a delegation of the Lao Defence Ministry and affirmed thatthe entire Party, people and army of Vietnam will try their besttogether with the Lao army to further boost the special friendship,solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Laoleaders hailed the visit by the Vietnamese high-ranking militarydelegation and praised cooperation between the two armies’ general staffin building clusters of hamlets in Laos , which effectively helpedimprove living conditions of local people.

They stated that theLao Party, State and people are grateful for the effective andfair-minded assistance from the Vietnamese Party, State, army and peopleduring the past war and at present.

The two sides agreed tocoordinate to build the Vietnam-Laos border into the border of peace,friendship and stability and boost exchange of information, experiencesand cooperation in training and in developing clusters of hamlets toimprove people’s living conditions./.
