Ho Chi Minh City welcomes over 23 million visitors in 7 months

In the first seven months of this year, Ho Chi Minh City City – the largest economic hub of Vietnam – has received over 23 million visitors.

According to Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, among the visitors, 3 million are foreigners, increased by over 30% compared to the same period last year.

The number of domestic travelers topped 20 million, recording a rise of nearly 8 percent.

Meanwhile, the total revenue of the tourism sector in the reviewed period is estimated at about 4.3 billion USD, up 15.4% against the same period last year, and achieved 67.5% of the 2024 plan.

To fulfil the goal set for the whole year, the city’s tourism sector will continue carrying out smart tourism development projects for the 2021-2025 period, with a focus on building a tourism service database.

Top destinations in the city include Cu Chi Tunnel, Ben Thanh Market, Saigon Central Post Office, War Remnant Museum, and Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral./.
