Hoa Lac Hi-tech park secures nearly 11 trillion VND in investment

Hanoi (VNA) – Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park granted investment certificates tofour projects worth nearly 11 trillion VND (484 million USD) combined in thefirst four months of this year, the park’s management board said on May 22.

The four projects will be carried out across 15.4 hectares.

The projects include the 200 million USD Hanwha Aero Engines plant by HanwhaTechwin Co., Ltd from the Republic of Korea. The firm is planning to increase itsinvestment to 260 million USD by 2021.

Meanwhile, procedures are underway for two projects developed by Japanese NIDECGroup at 400 million USD so they can become operational in the first quarter of2019.

Currently, the park is home to 83 projects with total registered capital of 3.4billion USD.

Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park, approved in 1998, is the first and the largest high-techfacility in Vietnam, spanning 1,586 hectares. It is expected to become a modelscience space and a national hub for technology development and application.

Core hi-tech fields in the park include information and technology,communication, electronics, biology, new materials and energies.

Last year, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc inked a decree stipulating somepreferential mechanisms and policies for Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park to extricatedifficulties and attract investment.-VNA
