A fire in Hoang Lien National Park in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai was brought under control on Mar. 6 afternoon, after four days of effort from forest rangers and locals.
Most firefighters have left the forest, though some remain to monitor the situation.
Also on Mar. 6, a new fire broke out in O Quy Ho area, in Sapa town, however forest rangers and locals were able to put it out the same day. It is estimated that 13-15 hectares were burnt and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.-VNA
