Hoang Phuc Pagoda Festival in full swing

A kaleidoscope of cultural activities have been held as part of the Hoang Phuc Pagoda Festival in Le Thuy district, in the central province of Quang Binh.

Various Buddhist rituals were conducted, including water processing, Tsethar (life-release), and visiting Buddha for refuge. Buddha bathing in particular attracted a large number of local residents.

The festival also included a wide range of interesting cultural and sporting activities, such as Le Thuy and “bai choi” folk singing, and tug-of-war.

Hoang Phuc Pagoda, the most ancient in Quang Binh province, has become a popular spring pilgrimage for visitors over recent years.

Lotus-shaped lanterns glow brightly in the pagoda, carrying new year wishes for peace and happiness.

The seven-century-old pagoda covers 10,000 square metres in My Thuy commune. Through numerous historical ups and downs, it is still standing today, boasting unique beauty and excellent architecture./.
