The aid package is to assist local and foreign non-government organisations that are involved in street kids, orphans and needy children.

The Future First programme has being carried out by HSBC’s Global Education Trust (GET) from 2007 to 2012.

Over the past three years, GET provided 434,600 USD to 13 projects on education, vocational training and guidance for disadvantaged children and 15,548 children in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Can Tho have benefited from the projects.

In 2010, the money will come from HSBC Vietnam’s sustainable development fund instead of GET.

Many NGOs operating in Vietnam make financial requests and HSBC Vietnam selects projects that can bring about lasting benefits as well as and a brighter future for Vietnamese kids, said Matthew Martin, Deputy General Director and Chairman of HSBC Vietnam’s sustainable development committee./.
