The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) in Vietnam said on April 6 it has been awarded the prestigious ‘Visa Leadership in Payment Volume’ prize for the second time.
The bank beat 35 other financial institutions to win the award for recording the largest amount of payments through Visa’s credit card both locally and overseas.
HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Its card is accepted in 19,000 outlets in more than 160 countries and territories, including almost 1, 000 in Vietnam .
Launched in Vietnam in 2008, HSBC Visa credit cards are becoming popularly and have grown remarkably over the last few years. The total spending on credit cards has had an annual growth rate of more than 100 percent over the last three years.
