The Danish vessel Leopard, owned by container ship operator Maersk Line, berthed in Quy Nhon port in the central province of Binh Dinh on January 31, the first day of the lunar New Year.
The biggest ever ship to land in Vietnam ’s third largest port, the Leopard weighs over 50,000 tonnes with 502 containers, including 300 for imports and others for overseas delivery.
The ship plans to leave in the morning of February 1.
On the lunar January 3-4, the port is expected to welcome and handle another two vessels weighing up to 42,000 – 46,000 tonnes.
This year, Quy Nhon port looks to handle 6.6 million tonnes of goods. In January, its total volume of cargo hit over 500,000 tonnes./.
