Binh Duong (VNA) – The globalinformation technology giant IBM, on April 3, kicked off its project to supportthe southern province of Binh Duong in accelerating the implementation of its visionto become a smarter city between now and 2020.
Under the IBM Corporate Service Corps (CSC),in the next four weeks, 14 IBM experts from nine countries will offer freeconsultation services to the local Department of Information andCommunications, IT & Communication Centre, Quality Assurance and TestingCentre, and Thu Dau Mot University.
The IBM experts will assist the Binh DuongDepartment of Information and Communications’ project on building a businessdata management system, which aims to make profiles of all small- andmedium-sized and foreign-funded enterprises operating in the province.
They will help the local IT &Communication Centre and Quality Assurance and Testing Centre develop theirrespective projects on information management and effective sales.
Thu Dau Mot University, meanwhile, willreceive support to design an e-learning strategy.
The CSC is an initiative from the giant IBMto carry its social responsibilities. The programme sends IBMers to assistcommunities facing critical challenges and nurtures the next generation of IBMleaders across the globe.
Since its launch in 2008, it has sent over3000 volunteers in over 275 teams to support more than 1000 projects in nearly40 countries around the world.
Fourteen teams of IBM experts from theprogramme have come to Vietnam to help non-profit organisations, trainingfacilities and SMEs across 11 provinces and cities.-VNA
