IBM Vietnam Company on August 7 handed over 20 sets of KidSmart (Young Explorer) early learning programme worth 1.8 billion VND (84,600 USD) to the National Fund for Vietnamese Children ( NFVC ).
The sets, each of which comprises one IBM computer and the EDMARK educational software, will be delivered to 11 social welfare centres in the five Central Highland provinces of Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Kon Tum and Lam Dong.
The software is designed to stimulate the children’s creativity, ability of thinking, problem solving and community integration.
Implemented by IBM Vietnam and the NFVC since 2010, the KidSmart Early Learning Programme has benefited more than 3,600 children in 16 provinces and cities nationwide so far.
In 2013, IBM Vietnam also donated 30 KidSmart sets worth nearly 2.2 billion VND ( 103,400 USD) through the Ministry of Education and Training.-VNA
