The Health Ministry's Drug Administration has requested its agencies to start checking medicine imported into Vietnam by foreign pharmaceutical companies before they are sold on the market.
The directive applies to companies that previously produced substandard medicinal products for import to Vietnam .
The results are expected to be announced within 15 days after the agencies take adequate samples and importers meet medicinal testing requirements.
The move, announced on September 12, came after management authorities recently detected and recalled batches of substandard medicinal imports.
The order will take effect from October 1.-VNA
