Indonesia aims to become hub for COVID-19 vaccination training in Asia-Pacific

Indonesia is making preparations for due diligence as it is competing with India and the Republic of Korea (RoK) to become a hub for COVID-19 vaccination training and knowledge transfer in the Asia-Pacific region.

Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesia is makingpreparations for due diligence as it is competing with India and the Republicof Korea (RoK) to become a hub for COVID-19 vaccination training and knowledgetransfer in the Asia-Pacific region.

The affirmation was made by Penny D Herasati, Director ofSocio-cultural Affairs and International Organizations of Developing Nations atthe Foreign Ministry,  at a virtual media gathering on October13.

The press briefing was themed 'Plan of Activities andPriority of Indonesia’s Multilateral Diplomacy for 2022 and Achievement ofIndonesia’s Multilateral Diplomacy' in Jakarta.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has initiatedthe creation of hubs for COVID-19 vaccination training and knowledge in anumber of regions as part of efforts to build herd immunity, she said.

South Africa has been the first country to become ahub for COVID-19 vaccination in Africa on account of low vaccine production inthe region, she noted./.
