Jakarta (VNA) – The IndonesianNational Police said on July 2 that its counterterrorism squad has arrested asuspected terrorist who is believed to be a member of the outlawed JemaahIslamiyah (JI) in North Sumatra province.
The National Police's Spokesperson Senior Commissioner AhmadRamadhan said this suspect was one of the participants of the JI shootingtraining in 2015.
A further investigation is still underway.
This week, the counterterrorism squad, known as Densus 88, alsodetained three suspected terrorists who are members of another bannedorganisation Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) in the capital Jakarta and BangkaBelitung island./.
