Indonesia calls on Turkish firms to invest in infrastructure sector

Indonesian Minister of Public Works and Public Works Basuki Hadimuldjono has called on Turkish investors to invest in Indonesia’s infrastructure sector, under either a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme or an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scheme.

Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian Minister of PublicWorks and Public Works Basuki Hadimuldjono has called on Turkish investors toinvest in Indonesia’s infrastructure sector, under either a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) schemeor an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scheme.
Hadimuldjono made the appeal in a press release last weekend.

Previously, Hadimurjono had held a bilateral meeting withTurkey’s Trade Minister Mehmet Mu to prepare for a meeting between Indonesian President Joko Widodoand his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan slated for early February 2022.

Hadimurjono said he hopes that the meeting would providea foothold for better infrastructure cooperation and strengthen bilateralrelations.

He then continued to attend a bilateral conference withTurkey’s Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu duringwhich he assured that Indonesian infrastructure development still opens thedoor to foreign construction companies, especially Turkey.

During the meeting, they also discussed an increase inthe frequency of direct flights between Indonesia and Turkey from 6 to 10times a week to support economic activity, especially the trade, investment andmovement of goods and services from both countries./.
