Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesia has secured 44.6 billion USD worth of investment commitments from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the recent visit of its President Joko Widodo to the Arab country. The sum focuses mainly on renewable energy and industries based on good environmental management, and investment with collaboration, according to Indonesian Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.
The minister said in a statement that in order to make a quick response to realize the concept of joint investment between the sides, his ministry have been instructed to take care of all matters related to licensing and other facilitation needed by UAE investors in Indonesia.
Based on data of the ministry, the disbursement of investment from the UAE in Indonesia in January-September 2021 was 7.8 million USD.
Investments from the UAE are mainly channeled into the food crop and plantation sectors with a total disbursement of 109 million USD so far./.
