Indonesia has secured 44.6 billion USD worth of investment commitments from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the recent visit of its President Joko Widodo to the Arab country.

Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesia has secured 44.6billion USD worth of investment commitments from the United Arab Emirates (UAE)during the recent visit of its President Joko Widodo to the Arab country.

The sum focuses mainly on renewable energy and industriesbased on good environmental management, and investment with collaboration, accordingto Indonesian Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.

The minister said in a statement that in order to make aquick response to realize the concept of joint investment between the sides, hisministry have been instructed to take care of all matters related to licensingand other facilitation needed by UAE investors in Indonesia.

Based on data of the ministry, the disbursement ofinvestment from the UAE in Indonesia in January-September 2021 was 7.8 millionUSD.

Investments from the UAE are mainly channeled into the foodcrop and plantation sectors with a total disbursement of 109 million USD sofar./.
