Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia will participate in theInternational Army Games 2021 for the first time, according to the Embassy ofRussia in Indonesia.

The embassy cited the Russian Defence Ministry as sayingthat besides Russia, this year’s International Army Games will be held fromAugust 22 and September 4 across 12 other countries, namely Armenia, Algeria,Belarus, Iran, India, Kazakhstan, Qatar, China, Mongolia, Serbia, Vietnam andUzbekistan.

Russia is scheduled to host 16 contests, and Vietnam will hosttwo competitions.

This year, the event features a number of new competitions,including Meridian, Tactical Shooter and Army of Culture.

Last year, it was participated by 156 teams from 32countries and territories competing in 30 competitions. A total of 37 records wereset during the event, 27 of which came from Russia./.
