Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia will participate in the International Army Games 2021 for the first time, according to the Embassy of Russia in Indonesia.
The embassy cited the Russian Defence Ministry as saying that besides Russia, this year’s International Army Games will be held from August 22 and September 4 across 12 other countries, namely Armenia, Algeria, Belarus, Iran, India, Kazakhstan, Qatar, China, Mongolia, Serbia, Vietnam and Uzbekistan.
Russia is scheduled to host 16 contests, and Vietnam will host two competitions.
This year, the event features a number of new competitions, including Meridian, Tactical Shooter and Army of Culture.
Last year, it was participated by 156 teams from 32 countries and territories competing in 30 competitions. A total of 37 records were set during the event, 27 of which came from Russia./.
