Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia is getting ready to launch the Pre-Employment Card in April as an effort to create better human resources, according to Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko.

The government will launch the card starting from Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi and West Java Province, Moeldoko said in Jakarta on February 18.

The regions had the largest number of job seekers, he said.

The government will get feedback, then make improvements and expand the programme to other regions, he added.

Moeldoko said distribution of the card would not be withheld, pending approval of the Omnibus Law on Job Creation, but it would require a presidential regulation. The presidential regulation is expected to be issued this February.

He admitted that the card would not guarantee that all job seekers in the regions, reaching two million, could be absorbed, as the government could not control the market. However, the government will ensure that job seekers have the capability and skills required by the business world, the official said.

The government has targeted to provide job training to two million beneficiaries of the Pre-Employment Card worth 3 – 7 million IDR (250 – 600 USD) each, with a total budget of 10 trillion IDR in 2020.

They will also receive certificates after completing the training and pass the various test mechanisms. These certificates of competency can be used by job seekers, who receive pre-employment card programs to obtain jobs according to their competencies./.
