Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo announced on July 27 his second cabinet reshuffle after two years in office with a view to increasing the effectiveness of the government’s activities. 

Accordingly, 13 ministers will be changed, among them four ministers will be shifted to new positions, with nine newly appointed ministers, mainly in the economic area such as the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and the Ministry of Agriculture.

In their speech, president Widodo and vice president Jusuf Kalla affirmed to their wish for a more effective and efficient cabinet in order to bring “obvious” results.

The president addressed challenges that Indonesia has to face like poverty, economic imbalance and differences among regions. He also stressed measures to handle the issues.

After the new cabinet list was revealed, the president, the vice president and ministers attended a full cabinet meeting to discuss the State budget for 2017.-VNA
